Father Grandfather Runner Running coach Sports physiologist Sports psychologist/mental coach
After emigrating to the Netherlands, I actively took up running again. Since then, I have participated in various running events, including marathons, half marathons, 15k, 10k, quarter marathons and 5k races, both in the Netherlands and abroad.
As a certified running coach, I provide training to various groups of runners. At PAC Rotterdam, I supervise a running group on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and I also provide training to recreational runners on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings. For runners who want to prepare specifically for an event, I offer 12-week courses in preparation for the Rotterdam Quarter Marathon and the Bruggenloop.
With personal attention and expert guidance, I help runners achieve their goals, whether that is improving their technique, increasing their running pleasure, or achieving a specific performance.
Every runner is unique, and it is precisely this diversity that creates an interesting challenge during group training. My goal is to bring together the best of both worlds: the social dynamics of a group training and the individual needs of each runner. It is a wonderful and multifaceted task to integrate personal goals within the group setting, to maintain the balance between group energy and individual attention, and at the same time to ensure a safe and effective training.
Monitoring the running style, guiding to personal goals and creating a pleasant group atmosphere make training varied and extremely valuable. The greatest satisfaction I get from that one moment: the smile of a runner who has achieved his or her goal. That's what I do it for.
